Insights about Working environment and relations to your goal output

Now that I don’t have a proper working environment, I realize how important it is for your goal setting. Having a neat working desk that you regularly use to work, study and expand is not the only beneficiary, it is also highly important for your personal development. Without proper working environment, we don’t stand a chance of getting optimum out of our goal completing process.

Ever since I moved to the USA, my productivity plummeted due to lack of good working desk. No proper environment to work in and the lack of results is felt, regarding the blog, myself, and my overall happiness.

The feel of underperforming

Productivity, apart from being something that is helpful, is also one of the beneficiary factors to our mood. When you are consistently approaching your goals, you are filled with the feeling of happiness and achievement. Once you significantly drop with your productivity, it can actually affect your own happiness.

Dealing with productivity decline

When you have a sudden drop in productivity, instead of wasting time like me, trying to overcome the situation, try to think what is the cause of your lowered output. Give yourself some time to breathe and asses the situation from different angles.

Instead of tackling your goals, the pay off is achieved when you are dealing with the problems that are causing the problem. When you root out the cause of your lowered productivity, you can get back to the optimal level of your life progress. Going through a sudden change in life can usually be the cause of this, and if you are like me, you might be a little bit too hard on yourself. Try to avoid this mental trap and allow yourself to fall. You just need to promise yourself to rise up again.

Cause of my problem: Poor Working Environment

When you move into a new place, you really don’t have an environment that is most suitable for you and your goal setting. Instead of waiting for two months to tackle the issue of workspace, I should have focused on dealing with this issue from the get-go. There are some things that could have excused me from dealing with it right away, but for the time being, settling the home workspace environment is the priority number one.

A home working environment is essential for anyone who is continually working on improving his life. It is a place of learning, improving and creating. Especially if you are like Darren and me, running a website of your own, and juggling among the different things. You’ll agree with me that bean chair or kitchen desk isn’t exactly the productivity environments.

What are my plans?

Considering my current situation and fast pace environment of the States, my plan is just to get a good chair and a simple desk, where I can put a monitor and a laptop. Which I consider a bare minimum for any sort of productivity. A dedicated working environment that has only purpose to help you learn, create and work.

The more you invest in the working environment, the bigger revenue you will have towards your goals. Especially if you are a knowledge worker that is creating with a computer and mind. Sort out the distraction, and get back on track with achieving your dreams.
